Despite this, younger brands like Richard Mille have been making a mark on the industry as well. Created in 2001, the Richard Mille brand is a little over two decades old. Yet, the brand has managed to become one of the biggest luxury watch brands by sales. The company’s revenue in 2023 was $ 1.5 billion, an increase of 15% compared to the previous year. 

Even more interesting is the fact that Richard Mille has achieved this while selling fewer watches compared to “bigger brands.” For instance, Audemars Piguet, a 149-year-old watchmaker, produced 50,000 watches in 2022 and made $2.27 billion. On the other hand, Richard Mille only makes about 5,000 Watches.

Athletes like Rafael Nadal and Yohan Blake are popular Richard Mille ambassadors, but the company has also partnered with Hollywood stars like Natalie Portman. 

Perhaps the biggest aspect of this watchmaker’s collaboration is its partnership with the F1 racing universe. Over the past two decades, Richard Mille has become famously associated with Formula 1 racing. Richard Mille has sponsored F1 teams like Haas, Alfa Romeo, Kick Sauber) and McLaren, among many others.
