Excerpted below are several pages relating the history of spiritualism. Wallace’s piece illustrates how spiritualism was a trans-Atlantic phenomenon and how it transferred to the English environment of London. This piece is also an excellent “further reading” list of primary sources for anyone who wishes to learn more about séance practice.
