Babuism

A 'Babu' would have been understood as a westernized Indian, someone who perhaps spoke English but not terribly well. The British mocked Babus for imperfectly mimicking British manners and habits. So a Babuism would have been an insulting way to describe a grammatical mistake typical of an Indian person who is learning English as a second or third language.
