This site was conceived and developed by Amardeep Singh, but a number of Lehigh graduate students have contributed to the project and its predecessors in important ways.

In summer 2024, Sarah Thompson worked on the site as a Graduate Research Assistant. Some of Sarah's many contributions to the site can bee seen on the Recent Updates page. Sarah's role was enabled by an internal Faculty Research Grant.

In spring 2024, Kate Hennessey worked on the site as a Graduate Research Assistant. Some of Kate's many contributions to the site can be seen on the Recent Updates page. Highlights include the Author pages for Frances E.W. HarperEloise Bibb (Eloise Bibb Thompson) and Benjamin Griffith Brawley.  See Kate's LinkedIn page here.

Kate's role was enabled by a grant from the Mozilla Foundation ("Responsible Datasets in Context").

In summer 2023, Miranda Alvarez Guillen worked on the site as a part-time graduate Research Assistant. Miranda mainly worked on the Arthur A. Schomburg / Arturo Schomburg pages, researching and writing the Author Page for this very important figure. Miranda's role was enabled by an internal Faculty Research Grant from Lehigh University.  See Miranda's LinkedIn page here.

In summer 2022, Christian Farrior helped edit and format poems from The Crisis (1920-1926). Christian is now a Ph.D. student at Arizona State University.  Check out this column by Christian at the Phoenix Daily Independent.

A number of other graduate students worked on earlier digital projects related to African American poetry. Some of their contributions have been carried over to the present project. One example is Amira Shokr's Author Bio for Olivia Ward Bush-Banks, written for a class project in a digital humanities graduate seminar in fall 2020. Hannah Provost wrote a helpful preface to Sarah Lee Brown Fleming's Clouds and SunshineSeveral students also contributed to an earlier version of what became "Claude McKay's Early Poetry"; their names and contributions are described here
