We have been generating summaries of some of the texts collected on this site, as an aid to researchers.  

In many cases, we have used generative AI platforms like NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) to generate the initial text of these summaries. However, we are endeavoring to validate those machine-generated summaries to ensure their accuracy especially with respect to South Asian regional cultures and religious communities; we are also supplementing the summaries with key passages from the primary text, as well as thematic tags indicated at the top of the summary. 

Note: to be clear, not all summaries have been produced this way. See for example Sana Asifriyaz's summary of Sultana's Dream here.

To be clear, the goal of generating these summaries is not to help readers avoid actually reading the texts. Rather, we hope these summaries might serve as an aid to discovery for researchers, especially of the more obscure texts collected on this site.
