I included this text specifically as an extension of M.P.’s defense that mediums are willing to have their work empirically tested (though this article goes into greater depth than the chapter). “Science at a Séance” will also give the reader background into the behaviors performed at public séances, like those seen in the “Confessions of a Medium” excerpts in chapter five.
