African American Poetry: A Digital Anthology

Roscoe Wright, "Jazz Musician" (1930)

Jazz Musician

He has saxophones,
Clarinets, oboes,
And a big bassoon,
Hanging about him
And ready for use.
He lays down one
And picks up another;
He does the same with his women!
