Wanted

By Robert Whitaker

What does the Negro want?
     What you would want
If you were in his place.
          A generous human space,
Nor more, nor less.
Nor danger nor duress
The heart of him shall daunt.
Until all men of every race are free,
And everywhere all have full right to be.
