S. Miller Johnson, "For the Shop Gal" (1927)
By S. Miller Johnson
She is a golden faery child.
Her face is honey-colored, too.
She skips about her candy shop,
While sunlight dances through
The door . . . . kissing my golden Sue.
She's everything the sun could wish,
If form be everything.
If otherwise, then she's a fish;
Her face, a keen warm sting.
