Walter Everette Hawkins, "The Messenger" (1923)
Hampering henchmen and haters,
Erecting enlightenment's empire.
Messenger of merit and manliness,
Emancipating the enslaved;
Symbol of sane salvation;
Scorning slavish surrender;
Emblazoning economic enlightenment;
Nemesis of a nasty nation;
Grinding the great and the grovelling;
Exacting eternal equality;
Rearing the ramparts of reason.
