Charles Bertram Johnson, "Rain-Mist" (1920)
Of mist and clouds, the ghostly rains
Streak down and listless winds that pass,
Like vapor chilld on window panes.
Gray threads of color blurred and purled,
And streaming pencils tapering white,--
The autumn mood is on the world,
And I am helpless in its might.
