O my, dat sun
Jes cooked me done,
De air so clos'
Done did his mos'
To smudder us
Widout afuss
Doan' yo' t'ink it's gwine t'rain?

Well, dar's a cloud,
It's thund'rin' loud,
De air's began
T'wo'k an' fan
An' feels right good—-
I wisht it w'u'd
Doan 'yo ' t'ink it's gwine t'rain?

I'm gettin 'ta'd,
De wo'k so ha'd;
Please Mistah Rain
Do cum again
'K'ase we so so'
Kain't do no mo'---
Doan' yo' t'ink it's gwine t'rain?
